Rockville Science Center Sponsors 33rd Annual Rockville Science Day

The largest science festival in Montgomery County is coming to Rockville, MD on Sunday, April 21st. This family-friendly event takes place at Montgomery College (51 Mannakee St, Rockville) and runs from noon - 5:00 PM. Best of all, admission and parking are free! The Rockville Science Center staff and volunteers are looking forward to welcoming over 100 exhibitors representing a wide range of STEM topics. While many of these exhibitors join us each year for Science Day, we also have some exciting new (or returning after a hiatus) exhibitors that we know will be a big hit with visitors. Want to learn how messages were encrypted during WWII? Check out NSA’s National Cryptologic Museum’s exhibit which will include an enigma machine. Or maybe you are interested in cultivating some nature in your own back yard. If that’s the case, be sure to stop by and visit with the Montgomery County Beekeepers Association or the Maryland Bluebird Society. And of course, perennial favorites such as robotics teams, the NARHAMS Model Rocket Club, National Capital Astronomers, NASA, NIH, and the US Pharmacopeia will be in attendance with lots of hands-on activities and information to pique your interest. Please note that if you’re interested in building a model rocket, sign-up will take place in the Faculty Dining Room at the Campus Center from noon—12:50 PM (launch takes place in the athletic field at 3:30 PM).

We invite you to bring your whole family and enjoy this amazing afternoon of learning and exploration right here in our neighborhood. Food will be available for purchase in the school cafeteria beginning at noon. The event takes place rain or shine.

PS, We’d love for you to stop by and say hello during Science Day. The best time to connect with our board and staff is immediately before or after the Opening Ceremony, which takes place at 1:00 PM right outside the main gym entrance.

Did you know? The Rockville Science Center does a lot more than just host Rockville Science Day every April. We are a non-profit organization that seeks to offer hands-on learning experiences in STEM for all ages throughout the year.
