Plans Now for Safe Reopening after COVID-19 Outbreak

NORTH BETHESDA, MD (April 30, 2020) -- Progressions salon spa store in North Bethesda, Maryland, continues to remain temporarily closed for business in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and looks forward to opening its doors again once the country’s state of health is safe and secure. In the meantime, the salon is making a solid plan of action before reopening to prepare for the safety and security of guests and team members.

“All of my team members are being certified on COVID-19 sanitation and protocols,” notes Progressions salon spa store founder and owner Cindy Feldman, who is also a board member of the Professional Beauty Association. “We are implementing several safety measures  and will reopen when it is safe for all.”

Having provided its guests with the highest level of hair, nail and spa services since 1984,  Progressions salon spa store will have several new protocols in place for every aspect of the guest visit. To start, the salon is reworking all of the station layouts to provide a distance of six feet between stations. Doors have been removed and the back area of the salon will be transformed to accommodate an overflow of guests. Touchless faucets are being installed along with touchless soap and paper towel dispensers.

The salon will be professionally sanitized with a special disinfecting and fogging treatment before reopening. New air conditioning and heating filters will be installed for all units as well as vent cleaning and disinfecting.

With a new system in place upon reopening, guests will remain in their cars until their stylist is ready for them. They will either receive a text or a guest service team member will come outside to escort them into the salon. Gloves, masks and capes will be individually packaged for each guest upon arrival. Hair brushes, combs, clips and capes will be thoroughly disinfected after use. Product shelves holding products used during a service will be carefully wiped down between guests. After each guest’s service, all used items will be safely bagged and placed into a hands-free, lidded container for disposal. All testers will be removed from the salon, too.

For guests’ safety, Progressions team members will be masked and wearing shields. The salon will also provide team members with medical scrubs allowing them to change out of their street clothes and put on while working.

Guest service protocols will be updated as well. The salon will now be cashless. Appointments will be emailed instead of using business cards.

Progressions’ team members are passionate about what they do and eager to get back to work and to connect with clients and other team members. For more information about Progressions salon spa store, visit www.progressions.com.
