  • American Dance Institute Making a Big Move

    Rockville, MD - The American Dance Institute is making major moves. This summer, the beloved institution in Rockville, Maryland, closed its school to focus on presenting contemporary dance. Now, ADI just announced it will move its Incubator residency program, which gives choreographers studio space, housing and other resources, to a brand new complex in Catskill, New York (a 2-and-a-half-hour drive north of New York City).     Kindergarten Class Collects 203 Books for Stepping Stones Shelter

    Potomac, Maryland-The Geneva Day School kindergarten class recently held a book drive with the goal of collecting 100 new children’s books for Stepping Stones Shelter in Rockville. In addition to fostering a spirit of giving back to our community, teachers Ann Hepburn, Debra Lieberman and Jane Mondonedo also used the opportunity to incorporate a math lesson. The class counted and tallied all of the books they collected…more than doubling their intended donation with a grand total of 203 books. Geneva Day School is a private school offering engaging preschool and kindergarten programs for young children beginning at age two.     THE TREATMENT AND LEARNING CENTER WALK IS A GREAT SUCCESS!

    Thanks to all who helped make The Treatment and Learning Centers’ 11th Annual King of the Road 5k Race/1 Mile Walk a huge success.  The saying “it takes a village” rang true for the race held on Sunday, November 15th.  We had 35 volunteers come out to support over 300 runners and walkers.  We truly could not have pulled off the event without the support of our staff, family and friends.   We raised over $21,000 from the event and had some old and new friends sponsor the race.  Special thanks to Jessica Cortes, State Farm Insurance, a friend from the Rockville Chamber, for sponsoring and hosting a booth on race day!  To learn more about TLC’s.


    PEPCO WATERSHED SUSTAINABILITY CENTER HONORED BY WILDLIFE HABITAT COUNCIL

    WASHINGTON, DC; Pepco has been honored by the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) for its development of the WaterShed Sustainability Center. WHC advised Pepco on the WaterShed Sustainability Center, located at the company’s Rockville Service Center, 201 West Gude Drive, Rockville, Maryland. The 900-square-foot home designed by University of Maryland students is a living classroom and laboratory for sustainable energy that features multiple electric vehicle charging ports and other hands-on, interactive displays.     PEPCO HOLDINGS AND EXELON REACH MERGER SETTLEMENT WITH DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA GOVERNMENT

    Enhanced package of benefits filed today responds to PSC concerns

    WASHINGTON, D.C. and CHICAGO (Oct. 6, 2015) – Pepco Holdings Inc. (NYSE:POM) and Exelon Corporation (NYSE: EXC) today announced they have reached a settlement with the Government of the District of Columbia and others on the companies’ proposed merger that will deliver substantially enhanced benefits to consumers and businesses in the District. The settlement package was specifically shaped to address the concerns articulated by the District of Columbia Public Service Commission (PSC) in its August order. The new package of benefits includes commitments to provide bill credits, low-income assistance, fewer and shorter outages, a cleaner and greener D.C., and investment in local jobs and the local economy. Pepco Holdings and Exelon submitted the settlement agreement to the PSC for approval as part of the existing merger proceeding. MORE
